Due to the special location of the Urbanization "Cantal Park", in the Cantal Alto area of Rincón de la Victoria (Málaga), next to a parcel of land declared by the Junta de Andalucía as a Property of Cultural Interest (BIC) By means of a resolution of March 1, 2000 of the General Directorate of Cultural Property that defined it as an Archaeological Zone, and because it is adjacent to another area of important archaeological value, such as that occupied by the "Cueva del Tesoro" , All the urban activities that have been or are carried out in the area, must be adjusted to the guidelines set by the competent authorities in the conservation of historical heritage..
Irrespective of the scrupulous respect to the norms dictated for the conservation of the environment, and as has been standard in previous urban planning, EDIPSA has contributed to the municipality of Rincón de la Victoria one more element that can serve as attraction, cultural enrichment and recovery of a Heritage that until now had been maintained in a deplorable state of conservation..
To this end, EDIPSA has collaborated in a project of the Ministry of Culture of the Regional Government of Andalusia whose objective was the conservation of the cave manifestations of the "Cueva de la Victoria" and the "Breuil Gallery" and the creation of the "Park Archaeological of Rincon de la Victoria ", this being a pioneering project in the province of Malaga and by means of which it has been tried to recover and to diffuse the knowledge of the archaeological site of the zone. The concept on which the creation of this park was based is that of "archaeological park within an urban context", whose scientific information constitutes the axis of a "theme park" dedicated to the technical, thematic and ascription Chronological that encompasses, Paleolithic Art and Schematic Art..
EDIPSA has financed and executed the above-mentioned project which includes the cleaning, study and conservation of existing cavities, as well as the installation of an Interpretation Center on the outside of the same that allows visitors to know their particularities. The project has included the installation of Plans of the Complex with the speological features, a map of the bay of Malaga showing the human occupation during the Paleolithic, describing the art and ways of life of its inhabitants and finally installed a Panel of the Canopy in which the paintings of the "Cueva de la Victoria" are reproduced, since it has a regime of visits reduced to scientific groups and controlled by the authorities..
The activities and contents of the "Rincón de la Victoria Archaeological Park" are complemented by the integration of this park into a "green environment" in which the preservation and recovery of the native plant species of the area prevails. As a factor of control of the climatic constants of the endokárstico means in which settle the settlements and a series of interior paths to accede to the different zones..
As indicated, the creation of the "Rincón de la Victoria Archaeological Park" is a project of the Junta de Andalucía and was developed under the direction of the archaeologist D. Francisco Ortiz Risco. It was the first step of a project that can be supplemented later, always in the opinion of the competent authorities in charge of its subsequent maintenance, with another series of actions that contemplate the study, excavation or direct action on cave paintings..
